Are You Golf Franchise Ready?

Did you know there are nearly 3,000 franchise companies to choose from? Thatís a lot, right?

How do you know what the best franchise is for you to own?

Well, the first thing you should do is take a personal inventory. In other words, are you franchise worthy?

Ask yourself these questions:

Am I truly motivated to own a business?

Write down what is driving you to step out of your comfort zone to take the risk of owning a franchise. Your motivation has to be greater than your fear of owning a business; otherwise, if itís not, you are wasting your time and emotional energy.

What are your strengths?

What do you bring to the party? Strong management skills, experience selling things, operational attributes, or other unique business skills? Know your strengths, and the things that you donít enjoy doing, is a must before you start evaluating opportunities. Match your skills to the skills necessary to be a successful franchise owner.

What can I afford?

Franchises come in a variety of different investment levels. Donít bite off more than you can chew. And, when you start your new business, your take-home pay might reflect that fact. Be sure that you have your household expenses covered by your spouseís income or other sources of monthly income. During the start-up phase of a business, you want total focus on building the business and not worry about paying the electric bill at home every month.

Are you a leader or a follower?

If you answered Ďbothí, that is the best answer. As a franchisee, you will be following a business system developed by the franchise company. And, at the same time, you will be the leader of your business in your local market. You will be, in essence, your own boss.
